Another Weekend of Fun

Lucy spent a little time with us and JD helped her take her medicine. He thinks it is funny when Lucy licks his finger. He explains that Lucy takes medicine because she has a headache.
JD found this little house and Sams. We almost couldn't drag him out of the store he was having so much fun playing in it. Thank goodness he didn't understand that it was for sale and could actually be bought and taken home.

JD got this little T-ball set for his birthday. He has been practicing for the major leagues.

Lucy has been visiting and helped shag some fly balls.

Missing Underwear??

This poor little mismatched boy is learning to use the potty. Last night he was sitting on the potty when the doorbell rang. I went to let Lucy in (refer to next post) and JD was so excited that she was coming he ran in bottomless. He was carrying his shorts but I couldn't find underwear anywhere!
What could have happened to this cute little boy underwear??? I looked and looked and it just wasn't anywhere. JD said "I flush underwear."
OH NO!!! Could he have possibly flushed his underwear?? I went in and flushed the toilet a dozen times and it worked no problem. His under wear is small but could it have gone down smoothly and without clogging?? OH WELL!! While getting ready for bath time I found the missing underwear. He had put both his legs through one leg hole and pulled it all the way up to his chest. Silly boy had been wearing it the whole time! Mystery solved. BUT -- not before JD got several stern lectures on NEVER FLUSHING YOUR UNDERWEAR!!!

Time Share Dog

I think we need to join a dog time share. Lucy is moving soon and JD is REALLY going to miss her. Almost every day, at some point he says, "I want to see Lucy." Yesterday his request changed to, "I NEED to see Lucy." Lucy played with us last night while Kristine went to a party. I enjoy being a dog "owner" for about 24 hours or so at a time and then I'm ready to give her back. I think a dog time share would be perfect for us. Pay a small fee, get a dog every once in awhile - no muss no fuss.

Happy Father's Day

I decided it was time for JD to go see a REAL movie in a REAL theater. We tried Kung Fu Panda this morning. He did pretty good. We didn't make it to the end of the movie but that's ok. After about an hour and a half JD announced, "I'm done." I tried to convince him to stay but eventually I just gave up and we left. Now we'll never know if Kung Fu Panda beats the bad guy and saves the world.
When we walked into the theater JD was amazed by the HUGE screen. Here is a picture of us waiting for the movie to begin.
We made a stop at the outlet mall on the way to see Grandpa this afternoon. JD rode on the fire truck while I went into a store.

We found this horse to ride while dad paid our bill at the Texas Road House.

JD visited with Grandpa and was really excited about this fun belated Birthday Gift. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

A few random pictures before I clean off my camera

JD had a playdate with Lucy. It was as fun as usual. Lucy begged for JD's treat but JD is kind of a selfish friend and wouldn't share. (ha ha ha ha)
We walked on the trail in the park where Lucy and JD checked out what was in the water.

JD's school had wear funny sunglasses day. Here is JD modeling his funny glasses.

We've been to the park AGAIN! JD is getting braver on the playscape.

There is a pet store in town that sells puppies. We played with this little cutie. She looked a lot like our old dog Rex when he was a puppy. NO -- we did not buy a puppy -- we only looked.

We had a shopping trip to Costco and JD sang Jingle Bells really loudly in the cart. I didn't think to record him -- so we only have a still picture.

Gymnastics

Thanks to Rachel and Annie who invited JD to their gymnastics class last summer. Since he had so much fun with them a couple times we decided to sign up for a class this summer. JD was initially cranky about going and kept saying "this is no." Which is want he says when he doesn't want something. It only took 2 minutes at the gym for him to change his mind.
He jumped on the air track!

AND, jumped on the trampoline.

And jumped some more.

He walked between the parallel bars.

We ended class by playing with the parachute. He can hardly wait until next Tuesday to go back.

The Beginning of Summer

We celebrated the beginning of summer with a trip to the park. The library was having a summer reading kickoff with rides on this "train." JD LOVED the train because it went very fast. Well, it went very fast according to JD standards. We also got to listen to our favorite children's performer. Here he is participating in the elevator song.
