Merry Christmas

JD got up about 7 this morning and found Handy Manny in his stocking.
The red motorcycle was the most exciting present.
WOW - Hulk hands
JD works to try and fix Handy Manny's truck.
Later this afternoon we went to Grandpa's and JD played with his cousin Justin.
Grandpa got JD a red wagon and then took him for a ride.

Christmas Eve at Grandma's House

I know I have posted lots of pictures lately. I just can't seem to stop myself. There's so much fun that happens at Christmas time I keep going and going and going . . .
We spent Christmas eve with Grandma. JD's best friend at Grandma's house is Shiela. She's a BIG dog with a mean bark but wouldn't hurt a fly. Well, unless she licked it to death. JD doesn't mind a little dog slobber!
JD and Grandma

Aunt Laura passed out the presents.

We stopped at the walkway of lights on the way home. We love this lights display because you don't get the big city crowds with it.

This little boy was VERY TIRED after a day at Grandma's.

Three and Under Day

JD and I took advantage of three years and under day at the Children's Museum. JD had a great time doing all the usual things without being pushed around by the big kids. Today was his turn to be the big kid.

Sunday Before Christmas

And what are we up to?? In order to keep JD busy before church this morning we made a Christmas tree out of cookies. We thought it was a fun creation even if we did get a little carried away with the "snow."
Yesterday was 80 degrees but today was COLD!!! The high today is only supposed to be 38. Poor Lu Lu doesn't have a very thick fur coat. I found this cute Letterman's jacket for her. I hope she will be in a better mood about going outside if she isn't shivering.
JD and Lu Lu are best friends. Lu Lu says that JD's stomach makes a pretty good head rest.

JD helps Lu Lu eat her breakfast.

On The Third Day of Chirstmas. . .

. . . my true love gave to me . . . a ride on the Zilker Park train. The trail of lights is up and going in the evening. JD and I decided to avoid the crowds and the walking and see the decorations from the train this morning.
Since today was warm (80 degrees this afternoon) and the weatherman is predicting a cold front tomorrow, we decided spent some time in the park too. JD's favorite thing at the playground is the fire truck.

Day Two of Christmas Break

Does anyone need an update on this dog?? She's still a little crazy but getting better. She has decided that she likes shoes. Here she is with her latest capture. I caught her with the evidence. She has one of JD's Spiderman slippers.
Our family went to this live show. We watch Playhouse Disney shows every morning while we get ready for school. I have always been a Sesame Street Mom but about 6 months ago the local PBS station changed their schedule. They put some new fangled show on during our morning get ready for school time and we haven't seen Sesame Street since. We had to convert to Disney.

JD really enjoyed himself and saw all his favorite characters, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, Winnie the Pooh and of course, Mickey Mouse.
He enjoyed his new Little Einstein light up toy. Mom is a sucker. The other kids had one and JD said he NEEDED one of those lights. Silly boy has always had a thing for flashlighs.

He sipped on this Coke.

After the show he practiced his Hook'em Horns in front of this Bevo statue.

Yea for Christmas Break

Today was officially a school day but since I didn't have any final exams scheduled JD and I took advantage of the situation. We celebrated the beginning of Christmas break by going to see Polar Express at the Imax theater. JD is the red splotch at the right point of the star.
The 3-D glasses aren't exactly proportioned for 3 year old heads. As many times as we've seen the movie on video it was still fun to see it in 3-D Imax.
Afterward George met us for a little shopping. All the excitment was too much for my little boy and he fell asleep right there in the cart.

Christmas at JD's School

Here are some of the Christmas decorations at JD's school. He has to say good morning to Baby Jesus every day.
In his classroom there is a wreath made out of the children's hand prints.

There are lots of festive decorations in his classroom.

Gingerbread House

I got this pre-made gingerbread house from the culinary arts department at school. They did all the hard work and all JD and I had to do was decorate. We had a great time sorting through the candies.
Of course, a few of the candies went into our mouthes instead of on the house.
The finished product is a work of art.

Christmas or Halloween

We celebrated Christmas a little early this evening with some friends. The wrapping paper said Christmas . . . BUT . . .
. . . the presents inside said Halloween. JD LOVED every bit of it.

JD especially loved this Batman outfit. I hope I can get it off of him before we go to church tomorrow.

Oh Chirstmas Tree

JD helped decorate the Christmas tree over the Thanksgiving holidays. I have just been a little lazy about getting a picture of it posted. Since our real tree gave me a headache every day last Christmas we decided to buy an artificial one this year. George and I had a white light vs. colored light debate in the store and colored lights won. JD has been laying under the Christmas tree while he watches TV in the evenings.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

We had snow last night. The high yesterday afternoon was 81 but then a cold front came through and we had snow flurries last night. JD thought it was very exciting this morning. OK -- all you folks who live in places where it REALLY snows, go ahead and laugh, but in Texas we consider this a blizzard.

SPIDERMAN!!

JD is obsessed with Spiderman. Here he is posing for pictures in his red spiderman pajamas with his new hat. The hat was supposed to be for Christmas but the weatherman says it will freeze tonight and so I think we will need it to go to school tomorrow.

Mmmm - Cookies!

Uncle Keith gave this funky cookie cutter to JD for Christmas. He has been begging me to make dinosaur cookies for a week now. Saturday I finally gave in. Since JD wanted red cookies you can't really see what it is. This GIANT dinosaur cookie cutter makes a bunch of cookies at once that are supposed to fit together like a puzzle.
It was a cute idea but the puzzle didn't QUITE work after the cookies baked. They sure tasted good though. Dinosaur tail is yummy.
We went to see the light show at a local outdoor mall. It was fun and there was even some real snow that the kids could play in at one point during the show.
When I woke up this morning, this dog and this boy were curled up around one another. I think someone was cold. Maybe two someones were cold! AHHHHH, JD says he loves Lu Lu.
