JD This Week

Halloween -- JD loves it and hates it all at the same time.
A Halloween store opened near our house. When JD saw the sign he REALLY wanted to go in and look around. Once he got inside he was a little afraid of all the spooky stuff.
When I got to JD's school this afternoon all his friends were under the play scape for a "camp fire." They had gathered some sticks and were roasting pretend marshmallows over it. Who says kids don't have any imaginative play anymore?!

Be An Example

Today's primary lesson was on being a good example. The lesson involved an activity where the kids used a flashlight and followed footsteps on the floor. I'm sure it was an excellent object lesson even though I never did quite get it from JD's explanation. ANYWAY, JD brought home a baggie of footprints and played with them all afternoon. Here he is walking on his footprints with a flashlight in his right hand. Notice Lulu close behind. She is excellent at follow the leader. I'm SO THANKFUL for our super Sunbeam teachers.

Another Week

It's just another week but I thought I'd post a few pictures of what we've been up to.
I took this picture at the ball game the other night and just forgot to post it. JD is the rookie of the year.
Dad has been traveling off and on so JD has learned to talk on the phone. He also tries to show dad things on the phone. He will hold up something he wants dad to see to the receiver and says, "SEE?" Hmmmm, that isn't EXACTLY how the phone works little boy.
JD made this family vase at school. Notice there are four flowers in it. We can't forget Lulu.
JD has graduated to the last preschool swim class. He is doing fine but is the youngest and littlest one in the class.
After swimming we went to eat. LOOK -- JD can hold a crayon. WOW!!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We were able to go to the ball game this weekend. There was lots of fun things for the kids to do while we waited for it to start.
JD got to ride a horse. I asked him if he wanted me to walk with him (like the dad in the green) and he said, "No, I'm a big boy." OK THEN!
We rode the train together.
JD loved the bounce houses.
Dad helped him spin the wheel and won baseball cards.
The chicken dance was fun between innings.
YUM - funnel cake!
The game wasn't nearly so fun when it went into extra innings.
