Livestrong Marathon

Uncle Keith came to see us this weekend and run the Livestrong marathon.  Rumor had it there were performance enhancing drugs in the water.
We went to see Keith run but would we ever find him in all those thousands of people?
 There he is!
 And - there he goes.
While he was here we did some things that little boys (and big boys for that matter) like to do.  We shopped at Cabellas.  Keith had to pick up some ammo since it is all sold out in Mississippi.
Keith and JD have become addicted to Plants v. Zombies.  The two of them played and played and played and played.  There were a lot of dead zombies by the time Uncle Keith left.

Straws are Big Fun

This little birdie has become a VIP in our family.  It has a BIG personality!  As soon as we get home he chirps that he wants out of his cage.  He loves things that he can chew and and grasp with his foot.  Straws are big fun for little birds.  Give him a minute and he'll have this one out of the cup and twirling it around.

The Week

It looks like my blog has turned into a weekly update.  We just aren't doing much these days to write about.
JD is still going to martial arts class and really enjoying it.  He is almost ready to move up to a colored belt.
He and I went to see The Lion King.  It is a SPECTACULAR show!
JD liked it so much he wanted a t-shirt to wear to school.  We were able to sit up close and on the aisle where the rino walked right by us.  The puppets that they use are SO INTERESTING.  I don't know who dreams up such things.  Broadway shows are high dollar entertainment BUT - this particular show was worth every penny.
My friend Linda retired on Friday and so we all went to lunch to celebrate with her.  It has been sad to see so many of my good friends "graduate."  All the folks in the picture are people I have been working with for 20+ years and it just isn't the same when they leave.

When the Cat's Away . . .

. . . little boys eat cotton candy!
George took JD to the buffet that I loveingly refer to as the "golden feeding trough" and fed him cotton candy --- AND ---
found the character to his game that we have been trying to hunt down for WEEKS.  Where was I while all this fun was taking place ---
--- LEARNING!  The annual Law Related Education workshop is one that I look forward to.  SO - while it may not look as fun as cotton candy - it was still great.
