JD has been enjoying his coloring books. He is pretty hard on his crayons so we had to stop at Wal-Mart on the way home from school this evening and buy some new ones.

Saturday is a Special Day!
Every time we pass a school bus on the road somewhere JD points it out. He says "mommy, it's a school bus." He spotted this one at the outlet mall and had to drive it for a few minutes.
After doing some discount shopping we stopped for some Bueno Tacos.
Dad helped JD fish in the pond outside Cabela's. There were some big catfish in the pond but they weren't biting.
There are lots of animals on display at Cabela's but the alligator is the one JD wanted his picture with. Can you tell he is saying "CHEESE?" He is used to me taking his picture everywhere we go. Last week when we were on the playground he asked me to take his picture. When I told him I didn't have my camera he told me to, "get it mommy, right there" and pointed to where the car was parked.

President's Day!
JD's school was closed for President's day so we had a little mom and son time. I took my camera along so I could document our day. Here it is -- our day off in pictures. We posed with some green St. Patrick's day boas in Target.

Elmo Grows Up!
We have been to see Sesame Street live. Last year we saw Elmo Makes Music and this year was Elmo Grows up. The show was all about Elmo deciding what he wants to be when he grows up and was ENTIRELY different from last years show where Elmo was trying to pick an instrument to play - HA HA HA HA HA HA! Maybe the Sesame Street writers have been on strike too. Here are father and son waiting for the show to start.

COOKIES!!
JD wanted to make snowman cookies when he got up this morning. Somewhere he found this cookie cutter and stood at the table in the place where we normally cut out cookies and INSISTED we make cookies for breakfast. I was hoping he would forget -- but -- boys never forget. As soon as we got home this afternoon he wanted to make cookies. He said he wanted his cookies red and then he found the jackolantern cookie cutter and wanted to make pumpkin cookies too. SO, even though it is Valentine's day we made red jackolantern and snowman cookies. They all taste good though -- YUM!!!

Mommy's My Valentine
I was trying to take a picture of JD's t-shirt this morning and he INSISTED that I take a picture of his "ucker." So here he is holding his favorite "ucker." We started calling his pacifier a sucker and somehow the s got dropped and the thing became an "ucker." BUT -- the point of the picture was his Valentine's Day t-shirt that says "Mommy's my Valentine." I, being the mommy in question, thought it was cute.

Saturday Afternoon
JD spent the morning with Dad while I went to my workshop again. We had some fun this afternoon after I got home. We went to El Gallo and had some mexican food. Here JD is enjoying his chips while he waits for his food.

The Clapper
Sweet Georgia Brown
We took JD to see the Harlem Globetrotters. Here he is trying cotton candy for the FIRST time. He made a face like it was a pickle and then refused the second bite. How strange!!! The boy didn't want to eat sugar!!
JD enjoyed the game and laughed out loud when he got splashed with water. YES, our seats were on row 2 and when they did the water stunts they were right in front of us. Aunt Pat got him a basketball but once he got his hands on it he wouldn't put it down. He even tried to bring it to bed with him. That's where I put my foot down. We regularly sleep with a Thomas train but I really didn't want to share the bed with a basketball.

Cut - AND - Mock Trial
This is one of JD's favorite activities. He likes to cut. Just give the child a pair of scissors and a magazine and he is happy for hours. OK, well maybe not HOURS. He is happy for quite a while though. He is getting quite good at it. He knows how to hold the scissors and works with them pretty well. Maybe he can grow up to be a surgeon?????
I know the title of my blog is Fun with JD, but today I had some fun with the mock trial team. Here are the little darlings. They are a fabulous, fun, smart goup of kids. They had the best time posing for some action shots in the courtroom before our trial started. Unfortunately we were eliminated from the contest in the semi-finals. DARN!!
