Jingle Bells

What do you do when it is 100 degrees outside? JD goes to the park and sings Jingle Bells. Try it -- you feel cooler instantly.

Last Lunch!

Today was our last full day of school and so it was our last lunch together --- well, at least for this semester in this office. Next week we have final exams and so we will have half days and can go out to lunch. Here are some of our lunch crew eating in our office. YES, it is a long skinny room that used to be a closet. They turned our REAL office into a classroom last year and so we were left with this tiny space. Darn school -- how dare they think classroom space is more important than our relaxation during lunch -- ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Water Day

JD wore his swim suit to school this morning for water day. He cried when we were getting ready because he wanted to wear "clothes" but after we finally got his swim suit on he was happy to go to school and play in the water.
Here is one of the many water slides that were set up for the children to play in.

When I arrived in the afternoon to pick JD up the children in his class were enjoying popcicles in the shade of the back porch. Everyone agreed that he had a SUPER FUN DAY!

Two Outrageous Numbers

I put gas in my car this weekend and this is what the gas pump looked like when I was finished. YIKES!! I considered walking to church yesterday to save some gas but this is what the temperature in my car read. It was TOO HOT! What a combination.

JD's Saturday

Lucy came by for a play date. JD was SO EXCITED. Lucy greeted JD with a kiss.
But then posed for a more formal picture.

JD and Lucy played ball.

When we went to bed JD asked, "Where's Lucy?" I had to explain the Lucy only came to play and not for a sleep over. Poor JD -- he had a tear and said "I want to see Lucy!"

We went shopping and JD tried out the fishing poles.

And he tried on this Bevo hat.

Children's Sunday

Several weeks ago the church where JD goes to school had a special Sunday service to recognize the child care center. JD and the other children went to sing for the service. I didn't take my camera because I wasn't sure about what the etiquette was for taking pictures. Thankfully someone else took a few pictures and shared. You really need a video to appreciate the performance, but, I will try to narrate a few still photos since that's all we have. Everything starts out perfectly with the children all standing in a row singing their songs. The little boy to JD's left is Ethan - one of his best friends.
Singing alone got a little boring so JD decided to dance too.

Here's a little more interpretive dance.

Then it was time for the children's sermon. Sitting still for it proved too difficult for JD. He had to roll around on the steps a little bit.
AND, we wiggled a little more.

Enough is enough -- JD just had to walk away from it all. For all you LDS folks who have worked on Primary programs take heart --- Lutheran children are exactly the same. You just never know what they are going to do.

JD's class

Here is JD's class picture. Aren't they all cute?! They look like perfect angels don't they? Looks can be decieving!!! I talked to his teachers the day this picture was taken and they had a really hard time getting everyone facing the camera and sitting still. No kidding -- with 14 two year olds?! We love our teachers - they are WONDERFUL!

New Camera

I got a new camera yesterday and am trying to learn how to use it. My brain is on electronics overload. Here are some of my experimental pictures.

Prom 08

YUM!!! Now you know the REAL reason I attend the Prom every year. Yes, that is a chocolate fountain and it was delicious.
Pat is my Prom date every year. We always hold our camera out and take a picture like this even though people offer to take our picture for us.
This year the theme was the roaring 20s. These gals greeted the Prom goers as they arrived.

Ahhh, Ms. Maney and Billy!
Here is my other reason for going to Prom. I love to sit and watch the kiddos come in. This guy was very serious about his BRIGHT greet suit. The girl in red and black is one of my favorites. Pat has nicknamed her Mae West and she always wears interesting clothes to school. When we arrived we both speculated on how Mae would dress for the prom but this is NOT what we expected.

We toured the party bus but decided riding home in it wasn't such a good idea.

Mom and JD

Laura took this picture of us on Mother's day. I thought JD's expression was so cute I decided it deserved it's very own post.

New Furniture

We have stocked up on some essential supplies at Sam's. JD found this box waiting to go out to the trash and thought it would make an excellent TV watching chair.

Like Mother Like Son

JD made these lovely T-shirts for us at school. They are his "tie tie" T-shirts. We decided to be twins today. I've put them in the washing machine tonight so we can be twins again tomorrow too. YEA for mother son shirts.

Happy Birthday --- I mean Mother's Day!

JD handed me this card this morning and said "Happy Birthday." It's the thought that counts so I knew he really meant "Happy Mother's Day."
We spent some time at the park this afternoon where there are still a few red wild flowers in bloom.

And of course, the slides are always fun.

There were Mariachis at El Gallo. JD LOVED them. You can kind of see them in the background. I guess we didn't look like good tippers because they never did come sing for us.

Finally, we delivered some flowers to Grandma. It was one successful day.
Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Happy Mother's Day Grandma

We have been to see Grandma for mother's day.
JD helped her open her present.

JD thought Shiela was super fun. I tried to explain that dogs pant to get cool. JD thought he would try it and see if it worked for little boys too.

Birthday Greetings

Uncle Keith and Nina, thank you for the card. How did you know it was a Thomas Birthday?
Rachel and Annie, I loved my e-card. Mommy would only let me watch it 25 times and then she made me turn it off. Mom just doesn't get it!

Happy Birthday

Today is JD's THIRD Birthday! Wow, how time flies. This morning he opened his present.
He loves his new Thomas Lego train set. Shhh, don't tell him I bought it used on e-bay for a great price. He had played with one at school and when I went to try to buy him one they were nowhere to be found. I guess Lego doesn't make them anymore -- thank you e-bay.

This afternoon he blew out his candle and we had a piece of this VERY BLUE Thomas cake.

We enjoyed the cake as you can tell from our blue mouthes and tongues.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY BOY!
