Deck the Halls

Dad and JD hung Christmas lights on our bushes. I know child labor is illegal but JD was happy to help with the task.

Happy Thanksgiving

Uncle Keith and Aunt Nina came to visit us for Thanksgiving.
JD started Uncle Keith's workout as soon as he arrived. Don't hurt yourself Uncle Keith!
We treated them to a gourmet meal at Sams.
JD helped prepare Thanksgiving dinner by working on the stuffing.
Keith and Nina brought presents. YEAH!! They assembled them while we waited for the turkey to cook.
After two rounds of turkey it was time for some football. HOOK'EM HORNS!

Science Day

JD had an educational field trip to my school for science day. Children from nearby elementary schools came by bus to do science experiments with our "big kids." JD watched out my window for the buses to arrive. That was the signal for the fun to begin. We went down and met the bulldog. She and JD are good buddies now.

He painted a picture using invisible ink.

He colored a germ.

He stepped into a giant kid sized bubble.

We did experiments with marbles.

When the second round of buses arrived at school with a new group of kids JD decided he had to do science day AGAIN. Mommy was tired so some of my student graciously volunteered to do the whole thing with him a second time. When science day ended I only had one class left. JD stayed and played Candy Land with some of them after they finished thier work. At the end of the day JD wished EVERY day could be science day.

Walking With Dinosours

Do you recognize T-rex?

JD does! He says T-rex is his favorite dinosaur.

JD and Dad wore their matching shirts to see the Walking With Dinosaurs show.

JD spotted the cotton candy vendors just about as soon as we walked in the door. Yummmm sugar!

The Dinosaurs were AWESOME!! They walked around and made sound and were very lifelike. The usher told us that many of the children in previous shows had been afraid of them. We had a serious talk with JD about them being just pretend. He did fine and wasn't afraid at all.

Thanksgiving Program

JD's school had their Thanksgiving program today. The children sang and then we all enjoyed some turkey and dressing. I can't get the blog to accept my video but will try again later. JD was an excellent singer.

Government Plot or NOT!

I know there are people out there who consider vaccinations to be some sort of Government plot to collect our DNA or some such nonsense. NOT ME -- I'd just as soon my child not get smallpox or polio.
JD was very brave today while he waited for his swine flu vaccine. When the nurse called him back he said to her "no shots" and the whole waiting room of adults giggled at him. It was actually very cute. He was lucky that today's vaccine was the flu mist type so there were no shots today.
A jumpy gym has opened up right next to the Doctor's office so we jumped as a reward for being so brave.

I'm Just a Bill

I wore my I'm Just a Bill t-shirt to school on Friday. Can you guess what we were learning about? JD pointed to the capital building on my shirt and said, "look, it's Barak Obama's tower." HA HA HA HA

Baby Quilt

We've been quilting during our lunch hour again. We recycled some old school t-shirts to get this lovely creation. It was a gift for one of our co-workers who is expecting a baby. Sleep tight baby!

Our Visit with Santa

Santa was at the mall already and so we decided to stop by for a chat. The only thing JD consistantly says he wants is a red Michael Jackson Thriller jacket. Thank goodness for the internet --- it arrived in the mail today. SHHHHHH -- don't tell JD I have it hiden away.

Halloween Festivities

The Halloween fun started at my school on Friday. Several of my co workers decided to dress like John (our long suffering Department Chair) for Halloween.
Will the REAL John please stand up.
Pat and I already had our costumes planned. I was Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas and Pat was a silly ballerina.
JD wore his PJs to school on Friday and came home with his face painted like a cat and Dracula teeth.
One last chance to dress up at the Ward trunk or treat party.
