Play Ball --- or NOT

We started our weekend at a Bowie baseball game.  Whenever we go to a Bowie sporting event I get in free on my teacher's badge. I tell JD to hold my hand and try to look small hoping they will just let him in with me.  So far so good - one of these days I'm going to have to buy him a ticket but not THIS time.
The Oak Hill Cardinals got up extra early for a 9:00 a.m. game on Saturday morning.
The boys warmed up and got their pants dirty on the wet field conditions AND THEN the game was called.
Since our baseball game got cancelled JD quickly changed uniforms and went to train with Grand Master Lee.
Watching him is quite amazing.  With one finger in the right pressure point he was able to bring down some pretty big men.
I haven't posted a dog picture in awhile.  Here is our little Rosie checking out what is on the I-Pad.

Easter BBQ

We know that ham is the traditional Easter meal most people choose - BUT - here we had BBQ.
We made a road trip to have the meaty deliciousness at Cooper's
JD has to make a face in every photo - he can't help himself.  I told him I was going to save them and make sure they were part of the slide show at his Senior Prom.
Nina and I had a little retail theropy to work off some of the meat caleries.

Opening Weekend

On Saturday Oak Hill Baseball celebrated opening weekend.  JD and I made the banner for his team.  I thought it looked pretty good until I saw how professional some of the other banners were.  WOW!
JD also got a promotion  at martial arts.  He got a belt with a blue stipe which means he is a candidate for a blue belt.
We love Ricky and Meghan!  They are the best teachers ever!

Spring Break 15

Another Spring Break has come and gone way too quickly.  Here is all the fun documented in a few choice pictures.  We opened the Narvaiz Family Bed and Breakfast (and Lunch and Dinner) to another round of Ridings.  We were happy to have guests come and enjoy Spring Break with us.
In addition to hosting the family we spent three days driving back and forth to Round Rock to baseball camp.  Special thanks to Donna for getting up SUPER early and helping entertain me on the drive.  I have new sympathy for people who make this commute every day.
JD had a great time playing on the field where the pros play.
While he played ball Donna and I got our walking in at the maze otherwise known as IKEA.
Baseball isn't our only sport.  On Saturday JD tested for a blue stripe on his belt at Mu Sool Won.
We celebrated passing the martial arts test with some fine dining at Costco.
This little gal has loved spring break!  She is always happy when her people are around to play with.

Car Selfies

JD grabbed George's sunglasses and my phone and took this selfie to send to dad.
He was so proud of his efforts that he insisted I do it too.
WOW - we are easily entertained these days.  Spring break is almost here and we are counting down.

Weekend with Cousins

The reason for our cousin weekend was a funeral --- BUT --- I just couldn't title my post "funeral."  We are so sad to have lost a member of the family but happy that we were able to get together for a few hours.
This picture makes JD and his cousin Jack look very serious.  In reality they were reading the poems on the headstones and trying to entertain themselves while the adults had more serious business at hand.
Thanks to Chad for sharing his birthday with us and providing an excuse to eat cake.
For JD a weekend away means the excitement of a hotel room.  He had a strange fascination with the walk in shower.
AND -- then there was Buckees --- enough said about that!

Wedding Selfies

Our family traveled to the bustling metropolis of Tomball Texas to the wedding of one of George's friends.   We took selfies while we were waiting for the bride and groom to appear at the reception.
Selfies are fun but it is always hard to get just the right angle so you don't cut off your right eye.
Our favorite stop is always the candy wall at Buckees --- Come visit us and we will take you to Buckees for a visit.
