Fever Boy

JD has been running a low grade fever --- AGAIN!!! I called for a sub last night but this morning was TAKS training and so I HAD to go to school for that. Even though he was running a temperature his appetite was fine. JD had two donuts during this morning's meeting.

Superhero With Guitar

JD doesn't have an injury on his nose. He came home from church on Sunday and got a band aid and put it on himself. He said it was his super hero light. I got it off him before we went to bed BUT - he wouldn't go to school this morning until I gave him a band aid to put in his pocket.

JD and his Dog

Here are some of JD's conversations with and about Lu Lu

To Lu Lu on the way to the park: "Don't be afraid Lu Lu, there are not skeletons at the park."

To Lu Lu on the way to get her nails clipped: "Don't be afraid Lu Lu, I'm right behind you."

ABOUT Lu Lu on the night of the thunderstorm: "Lu Lu needs to sleep with us because she is a little bit afraid."

To me: "Mommy, Lu Lu is biting me." Actually Lu Lu is a border collie and it looks like she is trying to "herd" JD.

Elmo's Green Thumb

George made me promise this would be our last Elmo show. OH NO!!! Here are a few pictures of the show.
We were on the second row and so we got to shake Grover's hand. Elmo never quite made it down to us.

You know it is half time when this guy come out into the audience with his gold plated Elmo balloons.

We didn't buy a balloon but JD talked Dad into some cotton candy.

AND a pretzel.

Ike For President

The student teacher I had last semester forced me into the 21st century. I now have a projector hooked up to my computer so that I can do power points at school. I've been a little obsessed with turning my notes into power points. Once I get started I have to keep hunting until I find just the right pictures and examples to go with my lectures. I have been working on propaganda this week and was trying to figure out how to use this commercial. (FYI - it is supposed to be the first TV commercial for a Presidential candidate you can find it at www.livingroomcandidate.org.) JD saw it and decided it was funny and wanted to watch it again -- and again -- and again -- and again --- He went to school this morning singing "Ike for President." I hope he doesn't need therapy when he gets older!!!

Not Much Happening

Since nothing much has been happening with our family I have a few random pictures to post from the week. This weekend I went to my FAVORITE conference for Law Related Education. My favorite session is always the one that updates us on the important decisions the Supreme Court made last session. George thinks I'm nuts but it is GREAT!!

JD had this get up on one morning this week. We didn't let him go to school this way! He has rediscovered a toy Aunt Sandra gave him for Christmas last year. His Thomas the train belt has been converted into a tool belt and he uses it to carry around his Handy Manny tools.
One day while he was sick, JD talked to Pat on the phone. Pat called him "pumpkin" which REALLY confused him. He kept asking me about why Pat thought he was a pumpkin.
I've been trying to get this picture of Lu Lu for several days. When she is outside and on the lookout one ear goes up and one ear is down. Silly dog!
