Shopping at the Commisary

We went shopping at the commisary on Saturday to stock up on groceries. We told JD if he was SO SO GOOD he could pick out a toy at the PXtra when we were done.
Choosing the right toy is serious business for little boys . . .
AND for dads.

SNOW DAY

We had a great time in the snow today. Unfortunately, it wasn't a REAL snow day. We spent the whole day at school.
When it started we had to go outside and experience it first hand.
At several points during the day it snowed REALLY hard. OK -- well, REALLY hard for Texas.
JD and his friends played in the snow too. They built this snowman.
And this one with a pacifier in its mouth. It was a very exciting day for us Texans who don't get to see snow very often.

Weekend Fun!

Here's what we did for fun this weekend. Think you can beat us?
JD pointed out the poop. . .

. . . and dad scooped it.

President's Day

JD's school was closed today for President's day. My school had teacher work day so off we went to be "developed" on some important educational topics. Here's what JD got out of the day.
We had our picture drawn at the pizza place once all the important meetings were over.
JD enjoyed writing on the board in Mommy's room. He was very proud that he was able to write every one's name without any help.
While the meetings were going on he worked hard to help entertain the other little ones whose school was closed.
We haven't had a sleeping boy picture in awhile. Sleeping boys always look so angelic --- HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Two Birthday Parties

It was a TWO Birthday party day. The first one was in celebration of Charles Darwin at the dinosaur museum.
We had our picture taken in a Galapagos island scene.
There was even cake -- YUM YUM!
JD got to touch a real fossil.
He played with these Galapagos Island turtle puppets.
Most fun of all was digging for dinosaur bones.
The "real" birthday party was for our friend Ethan. We jumped and ate cupcakes.

Story Time

On nights when we fool around and it gets late I try to convince JD it is TOO late for story time. He says, "no mommy, it's YOUR story time" and reads to me.
He carefully picks the books he wants to read. Usually a dinosaur book that we've read so many times he knows all the words. Lulu is always part of the selection process.
Lulu is always more patient than I am about being read to. Maybe that's why he always includes her in the pictures he draws of our family.

JD's Valentines

JD has been working on his Valentines this week.
He thought it was funny that I wanted to take his picture while he wrote. SILLY BOY!!!
He is writing much better. He has to copy what I write, but it looks pretty good.
This is some of the artwork from JD's school. This is his family in hearts. Dad is the big heart. I am the heart with the girl eyelashes. Next is JD and of course all our family pictures have to include Lulu.

JD's Family

I haven't posted in awhile because ---- WELL, we haven't done anything. I guess I could take a picture of us eating dinner or washing the dishes or folding the laundry. BUT -- how boring. That's us right now -- BORING.
JD drew this picture in Primary today. It is a picture of his family. The big person with the smile is dad. The little person is me and right down there at the bottom of the page is LuLu. I thought his drawing of the dog was a pretty good likeness. I went into his class in time to hear him give the closing prayer. He prayed that he was thankful for cartoons and the movie store. I guess Heavenly Father will appreciate an HONEST prayer.
